Pat Heffernan - Emeritis/Founder
Pat is a change strategist, business thinker, writer, president and founder of Marketing Partners, a Burlington-based firm working with mission-driven organizations to change the status quo, sustain our natural world and improve lives. Pat is the founding president of Vermont Businesses for Social Responsibility and Women Business Owners Network.
Pat speaks regularly on management and policy issues throughout the U.S. She has served as an expert witness on marketing communications in federal court, and testified on legislation at both the federal and state level. Pat was recognized by the S.B.A. as Vermont’s Women in Business Advocate, appointed to the Governor’s Partnership for Economic Progress, and represented Vermont at two White House Conferences for Small Business.
Prior to establishing her own business in 1982, Pat served for nine years as Associate Dean at Vermont Law School. She holds an MBA and a BA, is a Ph.D. candidate in communication and social change theory, and is a Certified Management Consultant (CMC). Pat currently serves on the advisory board of the UVM College of Agriculture & Life Sciences and as a board member of the American Sustainable Business Council.
