Greetings and welcome to June. How nice to be on the cusp of summer and perhaps looking forward to a vacation. . . or perhaps envying non-business-owner friends who can take a break without worrying everything will fall apart!

The experts all seem to agree that vacations and downtime are essential to avoid burnout and allow a shift in perspective. To help you on your path to enjoying the summer, here are some tips for both solo entrepreneurs and owners of employer businesses (who can actually delegate work to someone else!) Best of luck to you in whatever your summer brings.

Speaking of solo entrepreneurs, one of our members pointed us to this fun blog by a female business owner who has been happily solo her entire career! Check it out for practical tips on time management, setting payment rates, and project management. Businesses of all sizes will probably pick up some useful nuggets that can be applied right away.

WBON News

COMMUNICATIONS COMMITTEE KICKS OFF. Our new communications committee held its inaugural meeting in late May and is excited to begin improving and streamlining communications both internally and externally. We don’t want to be the business community’s best-kept secret, so we’re looking forward to these volunteers helping raise the profile of WBON in the wider community. Did you miss the party? It’s not too late to let us know if you’d like to be part of this committee. Thanks to all of you who took the time to express interest in participating in committees.

SHARE YOUR STORY. At WBON, we celebrate women business owners and the phenomenal power of our stories -- to teach, to inspire, to connect, and to support each other as we craft, grow, and sustain our businesses. You can share your story and wisdom with the WBON community, and our wider public, as a "featured member." This is a great way to highlight your business while helping our community learn from your experience. Check out our archive to learn more about your fellow members.
